Getting Started

How do I create a Koru Shield account?

Sign up at my.korushield.com and pick a plan: Free, Guardian ($5/month), Family Space ($8/month), or Prosumer ($15/month). Every plan includes human support, and paid plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee.

How do I verify my email address?

We send a verification link right after signup. Click it to activate your account. If it did not arrive, check your spam folder, then request a new link from the sign-in page at my.korushield.com.

How do I set up my first device?

Open the guided setup at korushield.com/setup and choose your device. Most setups take under two minutes: iPhone and iPad use a one-tap configuration profile, Android, Windows, and Mac change one DNS setting, and a router setup covers your whole network at once.

Where is my dashboard?

Sign in at my.korushield.com. The dashboard shows real-time query logs, per-device analytics, profiles, schedules, and billing, all in one place.

Managing Protection

How do per-device profiles work?

Create profiles in your dashboard and assign each device to one. That way kids' devices can have stricter filtering and schedules than your own devices.

How do I block or allow a specific site?

Add a deny rule to block a domain outright, or an allow rule to unblock one. Allow rules are the fix when a site is blocked by mistake. Manage rules from your dashboard.

What do the filter categories cover?

Threat blocking covers malware, phishing, and scam domains. The family content filter blocks adult content and other unwanted categories, and ads and tracker blocking cuts out junk. Categories apply per profile.

How do schedules and time limits work?

Set schedules on a profile to pause internet access at bedtime or during homework hours. Manage them at my.korushield.com.

How do I enforce SafeSearch?

Turn on SafeSearch enforcement for a profile and supported search engines lock to filtered results.

What does the browser extension do?

The Chrome and Firefox extension adds explicit deny rules right in the browser, a handy extra layer on shared or unmanaged devices.

Billing

Which plan should I choose?

Free includes malware, phishing, and scam blocking, the family content filter, encrypted DNS, and the dashboard. Guardian ($5/month), Family Space ($8/month), and Prosumer ($15/month) add more devices, profiles, and controls. See the full comparison at korushield.com/pricing.

How do I upgrade or downgrade?

Change plans anytime from your billing settings at my.korushield.com/portal/settings.

What is the money-back guarantee?

Every paid plan includes a 30-day money-back guarantee. Email contact@korushield.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you.

How do I cancel?

Cancel anytime from your billing settings at my.korushield.com/portal/settings. If anything goes wrong, email contact@korushield.com and we will sort it out.

Troubleshooting

My device is not filtering. What should I check?

First, confirm the device DNS setting still points at Koru Shield by revisiting your setup guide. Then make sure the client is linked to your account, and check the dashboard query log to see whether traffic is arriving. More steps are at korushield.com/troubleshooting.

Is Koru Shield slowing down my connection?

DNS checks take milliseconds, and blocking junk usually makes pages load faster. If browsing feels slow, check whether a VPN or another DNS setting is overriding Koru Shield, then run the check at korushield.com/test-protection.

A site I trust is blocked. How do I unblock it?

Find the domain in your dashboard query log to see why it was blocked, then add an allow rule for it. Changes apply shortly after you save.

How do I confirm protection is working?

Visit korushield.com/test-protection for a quick check that filtering is active on your current device or network.

Privacy and Security

What do query logs contain?

The domains your devices look up, when they looked them up, and which device asked. Your dashboard shows them so you can see what was blocked and why.

Where is my data stored?

In the US. Our resolvers run in Northern Virginia and Oregon, and your data stays on US infrastructure.

Do you sell my data?

Never. We do not sell personal data, and every lookup uses encrypted DNS-over-HTTPS so it cannot be observed on the network. Read the full policy at korushield.com/privacy.

What happens on devices I have not set up?

Unlinked clients are refused, so only devices you have configured can use your filtering.
